Record of Rawon

Description

Rawon a world where gods and humans coexist. Here, the gods thrive on human reverence, using that very power to protect mankind. Humans, in turn, live their lives under the grace of the gods. It is an existence bound by a continuous 'cycle of reverence and grace.' Yusa, the river god of Cheongyu River, has rejected human reverence for nearly a century, traumatized by the loss of his most cherished human disciple, Taneo. Every time he faces the threat of losing his divinity and fading into a mere speck of nothingness, he barely manages to sustain his fragile existence. He does this by borrowing divinity through habshin (divine union) with Gaho, a mountain god who secretly loves him. Meanwhile, Dajin...the son of a grand general whose entire clan was slaughtered by an evil god...desperately craves to become a disciple of a god and rise as the 'Human Emperor,' solely for the sake of revenge. Backed by his outstanding martial prowess, he begs Gaho to take him as a disciple. However, Gaho sees right through him, realizing his heart has been utterly consumed by vengeance, and rejects him. Plunged into despair by the bitter realization that the gods abandoned both his parents and himself, Dajin ultimately throws himself into the Cheongyu River. Desperate to ensure no more humans tied to him would die, Yusa breathes his last remaining divinity into Dajin with a kiss, saving the young man's life at the cost of his own remaining strength. When Dajin wakes up, he misinterprets Yusa's saving grace as a mere whim and reacts with fury. In a fit of anger, Dajin kisses Yusa back, telling him to take his divinity right back. In that fleeting moment of contact, the two share a glimpse into each other's deepest wounds and true hearts, inadvertently forging a master-disciple contract. Through habshin...the act of exchanging divinity… Yusa gains life force, while Dajin gains the power needed for his revenge. A god unable to escape the trauma of the past, and a human staking his life on vengeance. With Rawon’s greatest competition, the Jeseonje (Festival of Imperial Selection), approaching for the first time in a century, the sorrowful yet aesthetic tale of their mutual salvation begins. - Welcome to Kaizen Scan! - Record of Rawon
