Description
Shim Hyeongnam worked as a maid at a grand mansion in Pyeongchang-dong, where she lived as the plaything of the mansion's owner, Chairman Park Sineok. Following a particular incident, she suddenly finds herself forced into an uncomfortable living arrangement with Choi Eunhyeong, Sineok's right-hand man. His unfunny jokes and vulgar habit of putting his hands where they didn't belong— Eunhyeong was nothing more and nothing less than the kind of thug Hyeongnam utterly despised. That day was no different. After hearing yet another one of the crude jokes those gangster bastards were always making, Hyeongnam, her mind half-numb, slit her wrists. But Choi Eunhyeong, consumed by rage, grabbed hold of her, hurled every imaginable curse at her, and ended up saving her life. Eunhyeong treated her wounds, gave her enough alcohol to drink herself into a stupor, and even took her to Namsan to buy her a pork cutlet. He cut the meat for her himself, furious the entire time. "Even bastards worse off than you are still kicking. They fight tooth and nail to stay alive." Why was this man so angry? As though I'd done something unforgivable.
